2011 BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Rocky Mountain Chapter of CHMM, Inc. is a Non-Profit organization. The Chapter was originally established in October 1992.  The Chapter was re-established in 2002 and recognized by the AHMP on June 23rd, 2003.

Its Board of Directors is a diverse group of environmental professionals located throughout the Front Range of Colorado. Contact any of the members of the Board of Directors for information on the Chapter and its activities.

 Officer and Board Memebr Bios 

  • President - Nancy Prince, CHMM (2010) has over 20 years experience managing soil and groundwater remediation and mine reclamation projects.  These have included former chemical plants, textile mills and oil and gas facillities.  As CERCLA project coordinator she has worked with a diverse team of regulators, attornies, consulting engineers and the affected community to design and implement remedies in challenging settings.  Nancy is President of NK Environmental, an environmental consulting firm that specializes in aspects of oil and gas exploration and production permitting and remediation issues.  Nancy has a B.S. and M.S. in Geology from the University of Colorado.
  • Vice President - John West, CHMM (2010), John has 11 years of experience in the environmental engineering field and is a Senior Environmental Engineer with URS Operating Services managing brownfields and other projects.  He is an EPA credentialed inspector for SPCC Plans and Facility Response Plans and a certified asbestos inspector. He attended the chapter EHMM course in 2010.  John gave a well attended presentation on SPCC regulations to the chapter and again at the 2011 AHMP national conference in Austin. 
  • Treasurer Stephen D. Riner, CHMM (1991), was one of the founding members of the North Star Chapter in Minnesota. He served that chapter in various capacities, including Secretary and President.  Steve joined the Rocky Mountain Chapter in 2002 and has been an active RMC member ever since. Steve has a B.S. and M.S. in Chemistry, and has over 30 years experience in various aspects of environmental management. Steve works as a Senior Environmental Scientist for Black Hills Corporation in Pueblo CO, providing multi-media environmental support for the company's generation and electric operations.
  • Secretary - Kurt Streeb, CHMM (2001), is also a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). Kurt has 13 years of professional experience specializing in environmental assessments and audits, asbestos and lead-based paint inspections and abatement, investigations for soil and groundwater contamination, underground storage tanks removal management, confined space monitoring, and indoor air quality investigations. Kurt is an AHERA and State of Colorado accredited asbestos inspector, management planner, and project designer. He is also an EPA and Colorado accredited lead-based paint inspector and risk assessor. Kurt is currently a project manager for Terracon, Inc.
  • Past-President (2011 President) - Mark Jensen: CHMM (2004), has 10 years of experience working in the environmental, health and safety field as both a consultant and as an EH&S Manager at manufacturing and petrochemical companies.  Mark specializes in the development of EH&S programs, compliance auditing, permitting and regulatory reporting with an emphasis in waste management, spill prevention and response, and safety. Mark obtained his Master of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Washington and is currently the Vice President of Aquionix, Inc, a Colorado-based company that provides EH&S consulting, training, and field services to clients throughout the United States.

     

  • Director-At-Large - John Bolders, (CHMM -1986) - John Bolders has more than 29 years of experience in hazardous waste management, environmental compliance management systems, and project management. He is a Masters Level CHMM (#906) obtaining his certification in April, 1986. He recently completed his recertification through 2015.  In the early 1990s he served as Secretary, VP and President of the RMC-CHMM.  His technical expertise includes environmental management systems, RCRA hazardous waste compliance, environmental audits, and Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments.
  • Director-At-Large - Thomas Norman, CHMM (1990) - Thomas Norman is the Environmental Department Manager for CTL|Thompson in the Fort Collins office.  He has been a CHMM since 1990 and an instructor for the CHMM courses at CSU and Red Rocks.  He is a registered professional engineer in five states and has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in engineering.  He has 32 years of environmental experience in consulting and government. He is the current president of the Colorado Environmental Professionals Association (CEPA).
  • Director-At-Large - Doug Waltermire (CHMM - 2004) Doug has managed the permitting, compliance and regulatory affairs for several hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal (TSDF) facilities. He also managed state-implemented Superfund projects including coordination of contractors, counsel, and PRPs. His experience includes hazardous waste site closure and post-closure permitting; site investigation and remedial design; strategic planning and project alternatives analysis; extensive work with the regulatory community in air and water quality, land use, public health and safety, and hazardous waste; public education and community participation; political advocacy; and compliance planning and assessment. Doug has degrees in Environmental Studies and Geography.  Doug has served on the RMC Board of Directors as a director at large, vice president and president.  He has also served as a committee chair and has twice organized and managed the Chapter-sponsored Principles of Hazardous Materials Management review course.
